The course covers all of the classic time management techniques but moves, by evolution, to include a focus on preserving/enhancing relationships and accomplishing results rather than, only, things and time.
 


Course Programme 

Daily time-log   All delegates should have completed a time-log.
Discussion - outcomes from the time-log.
     
Thieves of Time   How do we waste time? - What wastes our time?
Group discussion.
     
What am I here for? What is my job?   What should I use my time for - roles, goals etc.
Duplication of work. Punctuality.
Routines to organise time. Daily to-do list.
     
Planning and priority setting - 4th generation   Urgent vs important work. Priority planning.
     
Procrastination   An exercise to determine how much time this wastes.
     
Interruptions   Ways to avoid interruptions.
Diary planning.
     
    Video - 30 ways to save time
     
Dealing with assertiveness, stress, paper telephone, meetings etc.   and other subjects from the Thieves of Time.
     
Delegation   What do I do that could be delegated? How do I delegate? Empowerment.

The course objectives are:
  • to find where we waste our time
  • to plan effectively by understanding our job and setting goals
  • to examine how to set priorities (urgent vs important)
  • to focus on preserving/enhancing relationships and accomplishing results rather than on, only, things and time
  • to know how to deal with procrastination and interruptions
  • to manage stress, paper, telephone, meetings etc and to be assertive
  • to know what delegation is and how to delegate
